In principle, the answer to this question is No – usually, a gazebo does not require a permit, as it is considered a "temporary structure". Temporary structures are constructions designed to be repeatedly assembled and disassembled at different locations.

Whether you still need a permit depends on the footprint of the gazebo. The allowable limits may vary depending on the federal state – for example, the limit in Hamburg is 30 m², while in Brandenburg it is 75 m².

We recommend checking with your responsible municipal administration or the local building authority before setting up to learn about the specific requirements and regulations.

PE (Polyethylene)

Polyethylene is a plastic-like material commonly used for tarpaulin covers, for example, to cover wood. Our PE tarps are 100% waterproof thanks to the heat-sealed seams in the roof area. This material is ideal for occasional use as it is very lightweight and easy to store. However, it is not UV-resistant for long-term use and therefore not suitable for regular or permanent use.

Polyester

Polyester is a fabric-like material that is coated with PVC on the inside of our polyester roofs and sidewalls, making it 100% waterproof. The material feels high-quality as it hardly wrinkles and remains almost silent in the wind. The seams are stitched, which in rare cases can allow small amounts of water to penetrate at the seam lines until the seams swell and seal. If necessary, a seam sealer can be used. All seams of our gazebos are heat-welded from the inside and therefore 100% waterproof. Polyester is not UV-resistant for long-term use but provides some UV protection to extend durability and is suitable for occasional use.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

PVC is an especially robust and durable material often used for truck and trailer tarps. It stands out for its resistance and UV stability. The seams are welded and therefore 100% waterproof. PVC is also repairable – suitable repair kits are available. In case of major damage, the material can be professionally welded. PVC wrinkles less and makes no noise in the wind. We recommend PVC tarps for regular or permanent use as they are particularly weatherproof and durable.

To extend the lifespan of your tent, proper storage and care of the tarps is especially important during the winter.

Storage

Always store the tarps clean and dry at room temperature. Make sure not to compress the tarps too much when folding them. It is better to lay them loosely or carefully roll up the sidewalls to avoid unnecessary stress on the material and prevent long-term damage.

Removing the Roof Tarp

When removing the roof tarp in winter, be sure to only take it down when it is completely dry. Hang the tarp to dry or spread it out flat to prevent the formation of mold spots or mildew.

Our tarps are 100% waterproof. Therefore, specifying a water column is not necessary. The water column indicates the pressure at which water penetrates a material – however, since our tarps do not allow water to pass through, this value is not relevant for our products.

Tents can be damaged by extreme weather conditions such as strong wind or storms. We do not assume liability for such damage.

We recommend keeping the tent closed in windy conditions, as the sidewalls provide a stabilizing effect similar to cross braces. In case of strong wind or storms, the tent should be dismantled for safety reasons.

Since wind stability depends on various factors – for example, the location, anchoring, and condition of the tent – we cannot provide a general statement about the maximum wind speed.

Our tents do not need to be waterproofed, as they are 100% waterproof:

• PE material: completely waterproof, with additionally sealed seams.
• PVC tents: completely waterproof, seams are heat-welded.
• Polyester tarps: PVC-coated on the inside and therefore also completely waterproof.

Our tents are delivered safely and securely in a sturdy shipping carton.

Optionally, we offer transport and storage bag sets that allow you to conveniently store and transport your tent after use.

Pop-up gazebos are standardly delivered with a practical frame bag. Additionally, matching bags for the sidewalls can be purchased optionally.

The setup time depends on the specific model and size of the tent. If you value a quick and easy setup, we recommend a pop-up gazebo.

Example weights for 3 × 6 m models:

• Premium: 39.5 kg frame + 25 kg roof & sidewalls
• Professional: 32 kg frame + 25 kg roof & sidewalls
• Professional PLUS: 49 kg frame + 25 kg roof & sidewalls

The required tent size depends on various factors – in particular, the desired seating and additional elements such as a buffet, bar, or DJ booth, which should be planned accordingly.

We recommend marking out the tent’s base dimensions at the intended location to get a realistic sense of the space required.

A helpful rule of thumb for guidance:

• Without seating: approx. 0.5 m² per person
• With seating: approx. 1 m² per person
• With seating & buffet: approx. 1.5 m² per person

To clean our tarps, mild soap, warm water, and a soft brush are sufficient. For stubborn dirt, we recommend using a specialized tarp cleaner.

If mold develops, the material should be cleaned immediately. Once mold spores are visible, cleaning is often only possible on the surface. A suitable tarp cleaner can also be used for this purpose, such as our tarp cleaner.

Our Classic Tent is the ideal entry-level model and is only available with continuous side panels with windows – in three different colors.

The side panels of our Modular Tent can be combined flexibly. On request and for an additional charge, side panels with doors or windows as well as gable panels with windows or doors are also available. You can also create further custom combinations in our Party Tent Configurator .

Our GIANT Tents are available with or without windows. The windows can also be freely combined.

Folding Pavilions offer maximum flexibility: color, side panels, doors, windows or closable windows – everything can be customized in the Folding Pavilion Configurator .

Tents from the Garden Pavilion category are not customizable and are only available in the versions shown.

The frames of our party tents are generally powder-coated. A fine-grain powder is applied to the metal and baked at around 200°C. This finish offers numerous advantages:

• No paint runs
• Higher mechanical strength
• Easy to clean
• 5-year warranty against rust on all metal parts
• Premium appearance and feel

Advantages of powder coating:

• Corrosion protection
• Environmentally friendly
• Solvent-free finishing
• Weather resistance

Many other manufacturers instead use galvanization. In this process, only the raw material is coated with zinc, while welds are often treated only with simple zinc paint. Additionally, all parts must be cleaned of the protective oil layer before first use – a time-consuming and unattractive process, as the zinc layer immediately oxidizes afterward.

Advantages of galvanization:

• Corrosion protection
• Lower production costs
• Weather resistance

Please note that after assembly, and especially in damp conditions, light surface rust may occasionally occur. It can accumulate inside the frame but can be easily wiped off and has no impact on the stability or durability of the tent.

We provide a 5-year warranty against rusting on all metal parts according to our warranty conditions .

Before taking down or folding your pavilion, make sure it is completely dry. Even slight residual moisture can significantly increase the risk of mold. Therefore, allow the pavilion to dry thoroughly in the sun before dismantling and storing it.

Also, ensure that the storage location is dry and that the pavilion is reliably protected from moisture. This way, the material remains in optimal condition for the long term.

In general, our tents can be heated. When using heating devices such as infrared heaters, standing heaters, or fan heaters, always maintain a safe distance from the tent fabric. Also, be sure to follow the respective manufacturer’s instructions for the device.

Important: Gas heaters should be equipped with a piezo ignition to ensure safe and easy ignition. Additionally, ensure proper ventilation of the tent to prevent oxygen deficiency. The heating device used must be explicitly approved for indoor use.
