Popular party tent sizes
These are the advantages of the party tent
Is it a shelter for markets, for your next party or even a permanent shelter for your garden? Party tents can be used in many areas, e.g. at trade fairs, flea markets, catering as well as privately for a birthday, a barbecue or for public viewing. A party tent provides sun, wind and rain protection for you and your guests. Smaller party tents measuring 3x3 or 3x5 metres are particularly easy to transport and can be set up very quickly. This means you can set it up spontaneously, for example if the weather suddenly changes.
Folding gazebos can even be erected within 5 minutes. A party tent is very versatile. It can be used for partying, as sun or rain protection or as a storage tent. Buying a party tent also saves a lot of time. The party takes place outdoors but still under cover. Furthermore, everything is in one place and can be easily cleared away after the party. We offer optional transport and storage bags as accessories for this purpose.
Party tent: buying or renting
You are often faced with the question of whether it makes sense to hire a party tent. As a rule, the hire costs are already included after the second erection of a purchased tent. Furthermore, the tent can be reused by family and friends. This reduces the price for each individual and the party tent is used more often. If you own a tent, you can of course also hire or lend it out to friends.
Buy or rent?
This is where party tents are used most often
Examples of this are:
- Trade fairs
- Flea markets
- Wedding celebrations
- Birthdays
- Communion / Confirmation
- Barbecue parties
- Catering area
- Large events
- Storage area
- Sales stand
A party tent or party pavilion is very often used in the private sector, as they can be set up and taken down very quickly. So if there is not enough space in the flat or house, the party tent in the garden or courtyard is a great alternative. Party tents in the form of beer tents are always very popular for large events / company parties etc. As party tents make you independent of the weather, they can be used for any party. Tents with PE tarpaulins are very advantageous for parties at weekends. They are very easy to set up and yet protect you from rain and excessive sunlight. Tents with sturdy PVC tarpaulins are perfect for use as storage tents and are very popular. They can be used more regularly or even left standing permanently as they are UV-resistant. Depending on your requirements, we offer party tents from our Modular series in white or in colour. This allows you to customise your tent to suit your personal taste.
Buying a party tent - what you should look out for
There are a few things to consider when buying a party tent so that you can enjoy your party tent for a long time.
- Do you only need the party tent occasionally or permanently?
- Is the entry-level model or the most stable version better?
- Is there enough space in the tent for everyone you want to invite?
- Do you have space in the tent for a buffet, jukeboxes, etc.?

The right size for the party tent
Party tents are available in almost every size. Our range extends from the smallest 2x2 metre tent to our largest 6x12 metre tents. So before you buy a party tent, you should work out how many people it will seat. We charge 0.5m2 per person. With a beer tent set, this is calculated at 0.8m2. So if you are planning a party with 20 people, you need to calculate as follows: 20 (people) x 0.8 (m2)=16m2 You would therefore need a party tent measuring 4x4 metres. Here you have exactly 16m2 of space.
Of course, you can also choose the next size up to provide additional space for a buffet, for example. It is also important to consider whether the guests will be standing or sitting. So if you want to set up one or two beer tent sets, your party tent will be more cosy. All in all, you need to decide what size you need before buying a marquee. The area should not be too small so that all guests have enough space. We recommend that you always mark out the tent size on the ground at the desired pitching location to get a feel for the space. This will allow you to quickly determine whether the space is large enough for the party.
Party tent in the selection: These materials are available
There is often very little difference between the poles of a party tent. Our range of party tents is made of steel, which is powder-coated. The poles of the folding gazebos differ in steel and aluminium. The decisive factor is the tarpaulin material. A distinction is made here between two types: PE party tents and PVC party tents, party tents and polyester gazebos. The difference between the two materials is decisive for the service life of the tent.
The PE material
Advantages:
- Easier to handle as the tarpaulin is very light
- ideal for occasional use
- waterproof due to sealed seams
- less expensive
Disadvantages
- cannot be used all year round
- not as stable as the PVC material
- Material not repairable
The PVC material
Advantages:
- Suitable for use all year round
- Ideal for frequent use
- Weatherproof and durable
- The tarpaulin is comparable to a lorry tarpaulin
- Resistant due to grid fibre reinforcement
- Repairable
Disadvantages
- Heavier than PE and polyester material
- More expensive to purchase
It is therefore very important to know how you want to use your party tent. The cost-saving PE tarpaulin would also survive a summer or two, but becomes porous due to constant exposure to sunlight and can tear. A PVC tarpaulin, on the other hand, is more expensive to buy but more durable. It should generally be noted that our party tents are not winter-proof. The manufacturer guarantees our highest quality Modular and Giant PVC tarpaulins down to -20 degrees. We have many customers who use their tents as carports or pool covers during the winter. However, this is at your own risk, as a tent can always be damaged if the temperature is too low or the load is too high.
Party tent and party pavilion
Party tents are usually square or rectangular, while gazebos can also be octagonal. Octagonal gazebos usually have an Arabian flair, such as our ARABICA series. These party tent models are perfect for your garden oasis or for a party. An octagonal party tent is very cosy and encourages partying and dancing. A rectangular tent, on the other hand, is ideal for seating and setting up a buffet. Thanks to its shape, every centimetre can be used to the full. A rectangular party tent can also be wonderfully equipped with beer tent sets so that everyone can sit together and celebrate in comfort. Square party tent / gazebo models are very practical in smaller sizes for smaller parties or for storing items such as plants, hot tubs, etc. Party tents / gazebos are usually fitted with window side walls. These are offered in the colour white as standard. Our modular party tents are available in different colours. You also have the option of designing the side walls with or without windows. The gable walls can also be used as partition walls if required. This is very advantageous if you are organising events as a club and want to use part of the tent as a changing, sleeping or cooking area. A folding pavilion is perfect for quick assembly and dismantling in the event of a spontaneous change in the weather. You have a wide choice of colours and configurations. We offer our folding gazebos in 10 different colours. The side walls are available with windows - optionally also with closable windows -, with doors or completely closed. Furthermore, a folding gazebo is simply folded up and therefore takes up very little space.
Material of the tarpaulins of the party tent / pavilion models
Advantages:
- Party tent without side panels
- Party tent / pavilion with side panels
- Party tent with PE tarpaulin
- Party tent with PVC tarpaulin
- Pavilion with polyester tarpaulin
- Pavilion with PVC tarpaulin
Pavilions without side panels have a roof, but do not provide complete protection in the event of a sudden change in the weather. We generally recommend purchasing tents including side walls, as the entire set is cheaper and a party tent should generally remain closed in windy conditions. So if you want to be on the safe side and not get wet, just a roof is usually not enough.
All our tents are 100% waterproof. However, they differ in terms of sewn materials such as PE and polyester and welded PVC material. With a sewn material, it is unfortunately unavoidable that water could penetrate at the seams during the first downpour. However, this is remedied after the first downpour as the seams swell. Alternatively, we offer a seam sealer for our tents with PE or polyester tarpaulin. Seam sealer for our tents with PE or polyester tarpaulin. This is simply applied to the seams. However, all our PE tents and our polyester folding gazebos are equipped with additional heat-sealed seams in the roof area and are therefore 100% waterproof. Party tents with PVC tarpaulin are welded and always 100% waterproof. The material itself is grid fibre-reinforced, similar to a truck tarpaulin and UV-resistant.
Weight of the party tent models
Of course, the size of the tent determines the weight. However, the material thickness of the poles and the thickness of the tarpaulin are also very important. Our party tents / gazebos are made of steel poles that are powder-coated. This means they are ready for immediate use. As a rule, our tents are equipped with a high-quality push-button system (click system) and are therefore super quick and easy to set up. The material thickness of the poles varies from 1.1 mm to 1.7 mm, depending on the tent.
The tarpaulins also differ in weight. Our party tents with PE tarpaulins have a material thickness of 240 g/sqm while our PVC tarpaulins vary from 400-550 g/sqm. The polyester tarpaulins are 280 - 330 g/sqm thick, depending on the type of tent. All tarpaulin materials are 100% waterproof. A PE tent with the same dimensions can weigh up to 20 kilos less than a PVC tent of the same size.
As a rule, higher quality tents weigh more than simpler ones, as they are manufactured for higher loads or longer service lives. You will notice that our tents are generally heavier than many of our competitors' tents. We use significantly more material. Of course, this is also reflected in the quality of our party tent products.
How easy it is to set up a party tent / pavilion
Depending on how quickly your party tent is to be used, it is important to compare which type of party tent you need. It is generally recommended to erect a tent with at least two people. Up to a certain size, you can also erect a tent on your own - but you will need a little more time and patience. Alternatively, a folding gazebo can also be erected by one person. The corner poles are pulled away from each other until all the locking bolts click into place. Your gazebo will be up in just a few minutes. Regardless of whether it is a party tent or pavilion. The larger the tent, the more difficult it is to erect on your own. The general rule for party tents/pavilions is to assemble the roof structure first. Then the roof is erected and finally the legs are mounted. Of course, extras such as a floor frame for better stability cannot be ruled out.
Your party tent could look like this
Of course, the size of the tent determines the weight.
Of course, it is also important to know what your party tent / gazebo should look like, what colour it should be and whether it needs lots of windows for more light or none at all. For smaller party tents / gazebos, there is often a large selection of colours and more leeway in terms of the contents of a tent. We always recommend choosing a white material, as coloured materials heat up much faster in the sun and can therefore make the tent darker and warmer. Of course, a coloured material can be advantageous for certain clubs and events and create a certain flair. The shape of the party tent is usually explained by its size. While a 3x3 metre party tent is square, a 4x6 party tent is rectangular. The only difference is a pavilion which is hexagonal or octagonal. This is a pagoda tent, which often resembles a circus tent.
Our tents are available as a construction including roof but also as a complete set including side walls. These can be selected in the party tents and folding gazebos category with or without windows.
A basic set of ground pegs, guy ropes and elasticated straps are always included with our tents.
Our folding gazebos are supplied with a bag for the frame and roof tarpaulin. An optional bag for folding tent side wallsBagfor folding tent side walls can also be ordered.
It is advisable to buy a tent with sufficient windows so that it is flooded with light. So if you choose a tent with a dark roof, we always recommend choosing lighter sides or buying as many windows as possible.
We offer an extensive range of optional accessories for our party tents. First and foremost, we always recommend our transport and storage bag sets so that your tent can be neatly and tidily stowed away after the first assembly and transported if necessary.
Additional weighting options may also be recommended. Especially if you place your tent on a hard surface where you cannot anchor ground pegs in the ground. There are various types of weighting, from polyester sandbags to XXL base plates, which can also be weighted down, to stackable 10kg steel weights.

What is the difference between powder-coated and galvanised poles?
<span style="font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: 0px; background-color: transparent;"
The poles of our party tents are always powder-coated. A fine-grained granulate is applied and baked in the oven at approx. 200°C. As a result, there are no colour noses and the poles can withstand greater mechanical loads and are easy to clean. We give a 5-year guarantee⁵ on all metal parts against rusting through. In addition, the look and feel of the powder coating is significantly more valuable.
The advantages of powder coating:
- Protection against corrosion
- Environmentally friendly
- Solvent-free form of finishing
- Weather resistance
Many other manufacturers galvanise the frame. However, only the raw material is galvanised and the welds are subsequently treated with simple zinc paint. All parts must also be cleaned of the preserved oil layer before a tent is used for the first time. This is not only very time-consuming, but also unsightly as the outer zinc layer oxidises immediately.
The advantages of galvanising:
- Protection against corrosion
- From an economic point of view, galvanised steel is more favourable
- Weather resistance
